Global Order Changing Rapidly, Pakistan Ready for New Challenges: Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that the global system is undergoing rapid transformation and Pakistan is fully prepared to respond to emerging international challenges.

Speaking at the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, Dar stated that the world order formed after World War II is no longer stable, as global institutions, alliances, and geopolitical priorities continue to shift. He noted that the international system is moving toward multipolarity, with regional alliances playing an increasingly important role.

Dar emphasized that Pakistan’s foreign policy is being shaped to adapt to these changing realities while ensuring national security remains the country’s top priority. He said protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity is non-negotiable.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position on Jammu and Kashmir and Gaza, the foreign minister said Islamabad will continue advocating for peaceful solutions and justice at international forums.

Highlighting diplomatic engagement with the United States, Dar said bilateral cooperation has expanded beyond security into trade, technology, and investment. He referred to recent high-level contacts between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and senior US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Dar also stressed Pakistan’s strengthening relations with Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, particularly in economic and strategic sectors.

Discussing regional diplomacy, he said Pakistan has renewed engagement with Bangladesh after more than a decade of limited high-level exchanges, calling it an important diplomatic development.

He concluded that Pakistan will continue proactive diplomacy to navigate the rapidly evolving global landscape.
