Khawaja Ahmed Hassan (Interview)

Khawaja Ahmed Hassan Interview

Interview: Maleeha Khan Lodhi
Maleeha: What are your thoughts on Nawaz Sharif’s return home?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: Like all Pakistanis, I am very happy for Mian Nawaz Sharif’s return to country. His sacrifices for Pakistan are not hidden in any way from anyone.
Maleeha: After the return of Nawaz Sharif, what change do you feel in the country’s politics?
Khawaja Ahmed Hasan: After his arrival, the people will once again be excited because the people know that he is the only person who can bring them out of despair. Also, there will be a positive change in the country’s politics and the slogan of “Vote Ko Izzat Do” will prove to be true. All parties will get equal rights.
Maleeha: Do you think the elections will be held on time?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: Yes, the election will be held on time because history will not repeat itself. There is no harm in holding the election on time. All the political parties have started their preparations and election campaigns.
Maleeha: You are always seen in your constituency while other politicians are seen only during elections. What is the reason for this political individualism?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: I am a public man. Meeting people keeps me connected with people. All these are mine and they have right over me. I am not related to people because of politics. You will see me standing by them at all times. What can I say about the rest of the politicians who have their own way of doing things.
Maleeha: Can all political parties come together on the same page for national issues at this time?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: It should be but every party has its own ideology. There are many things we are on the same page like inflation, unemployment and poverty. We are not only on the same page for national but also for international issues like Palestine and Kashmir issue etc.
Maleeha: What solution does Muslim League-N have for the current crisis?
Khawaja Ahmed Hasan: The solution to the current crisis lies with the Muslim League-N. The past is a witness that in every era, inflation, unemployment, poverty and terrorism have been controlled by Muslim League-N. This time too, Nawaz Sharif will tell the solution to overcome these problems in his rally and will also discuss economic reforms. He will put the plan in front of the people how he will control all of them.
Maleeha: What are the future plans of PML-N?
Khawaja Ahmed Hasan: As always, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will make things easier for the people this time too. This time he will take Pakistan out of the burden of debt. The public will see how the rising inflation will be controlled.
Maleeha: Why do the leaders of the PML-N not agree to each other?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: Every human being has his own thoughts. We cannot change people’s minds. There may be ideological differences in the party, but there is no personal difference. Therefore, we are all behind Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and there is no major difference in the party. However, ideological differences are the beauty of democracy which incline the party towards reforms.
Maleeha: What position do you see for the PML-N in the next election?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: In the upcoming election, PML-N will win with a huge majority as always. Even in the past, if we had not been cheated, the country would not have faced these worst problems. But the people have now understood who can get them justice and who can get them out of the problems. So this time the victory will be ours.
Maleeha: Will Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif get justice?
Khawaja Ahmed Hassan: Yes, he will get judicial justice. You have seen that whatever injustice was done to him in the past affected the entire country. So this time we hope that judicial justice will be done.
Maleeha: Finally, what message do you want to convey to the youth regarding the election?
Khawaja Ahmed Hasan: This is the message for the youth to keep themselves strong and support the truth. They should not harm the country by following those who make false claims and promises. Our future is in their hands. They should take positive action.
