Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed a comprehensive modernization of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency headquarters, focusing on advanced IT systems, improved digital infrastructure, and enhanced security measures.
During his visit to the NCCIA building, the minister reviewed the existing facilities and stressed the importance of upgrading the agency to effectively combat the growing challenges of cybercrime in Pakistan. He instructed officials to prepare a detailed development plan, including the addition of new floors and the integration of modern technological tools.
Accompanied by Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi highlighted the need for cutting-edge IT infrastructure, advanced surveillance systems like CCTV cameras, and fully equipped operational units to boost the agency’s performance and efficiency.
The minister emphasized that strengthening the NCCIA is essential in the digital era, where cyber threats continue to evolve rapidly. The proposed upgrades aim to equip the agency with the tools needed to respond effectively to cybercrime incidents and ensure digital security across the country.
In addition to the NCCIA upgrade, Mohsin Naqvi also reviewed the construction progress of the new Parliament Lodges block. He directed authorities to complete the project within three months. The new block will include 104 residential units for parliamentarians, along with modern facilities such as a mosque, gymnasium, swimming pool, and coffee shop.
Security arrangements were also a key focus, with instructions to install CCTV cameras throughout the premises and complete boundary walls to ensure safety.
Furthermore, the minister called for a restoration and rehabilitation plan for the older Parliament Lodges block, ensuring that both new and existing facilities meet modern standards.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure, strengthening cybercrime control, and improving public sector facilities in Pakistan.
