The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) has disbursed long-pending payments worth billions of rupees to print media houses, just before the close of the financial year. This important development was made possible through the tireless efforts of Principal Information Officer (PIO), PID, Mr. Mubashir Hassan, who is widely appreciated for his media-friendly leadership.
The Press Information Department (PID) staff worked around the clock to ensure timely preparation and delivery of cheques to media house owners, showcasing exceptional dedication and efficiency during the closing days of the fiscal year.
Despite PID’s swift handling, the process was delayed due to system failures at the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR), which was unable to process payments through the online vendor number system—even though all vendor details had been properly updated. The Auditor General’s office is urged to conduct a thorough review of the AGPR’s payment mechanisms to prevent such lapses in the future.
