Khushab: A poll conducted by Daily Soon Times asked the public who could be the expected candidate for PML-N ticket from NA-87. In this regard, the names of former Federal Minister Sumaira and former MNA Shakir Bashir Awan were suggested. On behalf of the public, 78 percent of voters voted in favor of Shakir Bashir Awan, while 22 percent voted for Sumaira Malik. Sumaira Malik has not yet started the election campaign in Soon Valley region. While Samira Malik is paying more attention to Mitha Tiwana, Hadali etc. Despite being successful in Soon Valley several times, she could not deliver any major project here. She contested the election in the name of giving Sui gas but did not fulfill the promise. On the other hand, Soon Valley will be a new constituency for Shakir Bashir Awan, from where a mixed trend is emerging. Regarding the ticket, Sumaira Malik has an advantage over Shakir Bashir Awan in many respects. Sumaira Malik is the vice president of PML-N Punjab while in the last election she got around seventy thousand votes. Shakir Bashir Awan’s uncle Malik Mazhar Awan participated as an independent candidate in the election after not getting a ticket and got 38,000 votes. Thus, due to his stubbornness, the PML-N lost this seat. On the other hand, Shakir Bashir Awan has the full support of candidate for MPA Asif Bha. According to Soon Times sources, if Shakir Bashir group does not get the ticket, it will participate in the elections with an independent panel. Amir Haider Sangha, the candidate of IPP with the Sumaira Malik Group, is leading the campaign. Regarding the ticket, it is decided that ticket will be issued to Maryam Nawaz camp. While the Hamza group is currently not getting the prominence that gives the impression that Shakir Bashir will not get the ticket. Shakir Bashir Awan camp is hopeful that he will get the ticket. On this seat, the leadership of the PML-N is stuck in the exam, maybe the ticket for this seat will be decided after a few days. It should be noted that both the candidates will fight for their political survival in these elections.
