Sindh to Give Free Pink Electric Scooters to Women on International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day (March 8), the Government of Sindh will organize a special ceremony to distribute free pink electric scooters to women across the province.
This initiative aims to provide women with safe, independent, and environmentally friendly transportation options. By offering electric scooters, the government hopes to make daily travel easier for women who commute for education, work, or personal needs.
Training and Safety for Riders
According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, the provincial information minister, women selected for the program will not only receive scooters but will also participate in road safety training sessions.
These sessions will focus on:
-
Traffic rules and road safety
-
Proper handling and operation of electric scooters
-
Basic scooter maintenance
Officials believe that proper training will ensure women can ride safely and confidently on city roads.
Boosting Women’s Mobility
The Pink Electric Scooters program is designed to increase women’s mobility and independence. The initiative aims to make it easier for women to travel freely, which can help them participate more actively in education, employment, and social activities.
Promoting Eco-Friendly Transport
Another key goal of the program is to encourage the use of environmentally friendly vehicles. Electric scooters reduce reliance on fuel-powered transport and help lower carbon emissions, contributing to cleaner cities.
Government’s Commitment
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the Sindh government plans to introduce more programs like this in the future. The aim is to continue expanding opportunities that support women’s empowerment and sustainable transportation across the province.
