Gaining weight is one of the biggest problems that have arisen from this global pandemic. People are quarantined at home and spend their time either sleeping or eating. Excessive eating is the cause of weight gain and excessive weight gaining can lead to obesity and depression in its later stages. During such times people must look to avoid eating unhealthy and avoid gaining excessive weight in order to stay healthy and lead a good life. Gaining weight can lead to many heart diseases along with the added pressure to your bones making them weak and fragile over a period of time. Diabetes is another negative of weight gaining. During this pandemic, we must make sure that we take care of our bodies and health by avoiding gaining weight.

Weight gaining can be avoided by choosing to live a healthy lifestyle which includes eating healthy, daily levels of exercise, and physical activities. By doing just these you reduce the chances of chronic illnesses, diabetes, cancer, osteoarthritis, and high blood pressure. First of all, people must look to discipline themselves and make sure that they stay away from unhealthy foods such as burgers, sweets, pizzas, and oily foods. Eating foods rich in vitamins and minerals such as fruits and vegetables is one of maintaining a great balanced diet. Exercise should be included and done daily. Exercise helps us stay fit and healthy. Moreover, it also develops our muscles and improves our stamina. Doing exercise at home whenever one is free is a great way of not only staying healthy and fit but also having fun. You can stay fit and enjoy fitness with your family by doing family exercises and getting fit together. This helps relationship bonding as well as helps one stay fit. Gaining weight is easy but avoiding it is hard if you are not motivated enough. Therefore, motivate yourself and stay motivated, find a reason to stay healthy, and stick to it.

Gaining weight has been a problem throughout time especially with the young aged population who get addicted to food with higher sugar content making them the easiest target of obesity and other diseases. It is estimated that more than 50% of the world’s population is facing problems related to obesity. This then causes many other health-related problems in the future.
Doctors recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise daily that will not only help against weight gain but will also be helpful towards the mental health of people who are going through the pandemic without much support. One of the best ways to watch for weight gain is to have control over the portions that you eat. Having portion control will allow a person to control how much he eats and what he eats in order to stay fit and be healthy. This will also make the person aware of how much he eats and how much his body really needs on a regular basis. In order to stay active and avoid gaining weight, they must be able to stay active. One way to do this is to find new hobbies and not allow one to be bored and then eat in boredom. Finding new hobbies and interests will allow a person to distract himself from eating and then gaining weight as such. Try to stay in touch with people and friends, they will be your motivation for weight loss and will also help you distract yourself from eating and having mental pressures from the outlook of the pandemic. Lastly, one of the best ways to avoid gaining weight is to make sure that you don’t have junk food or high-calorie foods at home readily available whenever you are hungry. Buy foods that are filling, full of nutrients, and lower in calories such as fruits, vegetables, chicken, and non-oily goods. These foods have lesser calories and people can eat more of them till they are satisfied. Such foods also contain fiber and make people stay full for a longer period of time.

In conclusion, one must stay in shape and look to avoid gaining weight in order to stay active and healthy. This will allow a person to feel happy about him and make his life easier. Obesity and many other fatal diseases are avoided when you avoid excessive weight gaining. Stay fit and healthy to avoid gaining weight by looking at the positives of the pandemic and the quarantine. It gives us an opportunity to connect with our loved ones at home and gives us a break from our hectic lives. It gives us time on our hands to be able to stay in peace without worrying about external factors which were common during normal times. People just have to start planning properly and be more caring towards their health and lifestyle during this pandemic.
