The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has carried out a reshuffle involving two senior officers serving in Abbottabad, with Muhammad Suleman and Muhammad Ishtiaq exchanging their respective assignments with immediate effect.
According to Notification No. CPO/E-I/Transfer/Posting/2330, issued by the Central Police Office (CPO), Peshawar, on September 23, 2026, SP Cantt Abbottabad Muhammad Suleman, a Pakistan Police Service officer of BS-18, has been transferred and posted as SP Traffic Warden Abbottabad.
At the same time, Muhammad Ishtiaq, also a BS-18 PSP officer and previously serving as SP Traffic Warden Abbottabad, has been transferred and posted as SP Cantt Abbottabad.
The notification was issued by Provincial Police Officer Zulfiqar Hameed and states that the transfers and postings have been made in the public interest. Both officers have been directed to assume their new responsibilities with immediate effect.
The reshuffle effectively represents an exchange of assignments between the two senior officers. Muhammad Suleman will now oversee Traffic Warden operations in Abbottabad, while Muhammad Ishtiaq will take charge of the Cantt police division.
The SP Cantt position involves responsibility for policing and law-and-order matters within the cantonment area. Meanwhile, the SP Traffic Warden position involves supervision of traffic management, enforcement and measures aimed at maintaining smooth traffic flow.
The latest changes form part of routine administrative adjustments within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. Such transfers and postings are generally used to reorganise the deployment of senior officers across different operational units.
The notification does not provide any specific reason for the exchange of assignments beyond stating that the transfers and postings have been made in the public interest.
With the orders taking effect immediately, both officers are expected to assume their respective new responsibilities in Abbottabad.
