RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir has issued a strong warning that any future aggression against Pakistan would result in a “far-reaching, dangerous and painful” response.
Speaking at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, the army chief emphasized that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remain non-negotiable.
He stated that the 2025 conflict, referred to as Marka-e-Haq, was not just a conventional war but a decisive battle of ideologies. According to him, Pakistan’s armed forces responded with full strength, unity, and strategic coordination across land, air, and sea domains.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted that future warfare would be multi-dimensional, involving cyber, space, drones, and artificial intelligence. He noted that Pakistan is actively modernising its defence capabilities, including advancements in missile systems, naval strength, and air power.
Paying tribute to martyrs, he said their sacrifices were the foundation of Pakistan’s strength and independence. He also praised the role of the nation, media, and youth in countering misinformation and supporting the armed forces during critical times.
The army chief pointed out Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements, including its role in facilitating dialogue between global powers such as the United States and Iran. He said Pakistan’s balanced and responsible diplomacy has enhanced its global standing.
He further addressed regional security concerns, urging Afghanistan to take action against militant groups and prevent the use of its soil for cross-border terrorism.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, he stated that the country would continue to support the Kashmiri people politically, diplomatically, and morally, adding that lasting peace in the region depends on resolving the dispute in accordance with international resolutions.
The ceremony at GHQ was attended by senior military leadership, including Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Naveed Ashraf, along with other officials.
The event concluded with tributes to martyrs and reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability, and strong national defence.
