Balochistan Launches Seven-Day Polio Vaccination Drive Across 31 Districts

A seven-day polio vaccination campaign has begun across 31 districts of Balochistan from Monday, November 2, 2026. Health authorities aim to administer polio drops to more than 2.2 million children as part of ongoing efforts to protect them against the disease and prevent its spread.

According to the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), 8,888 vaccination teams have been formed to carry out the province-wide campaign. The teams will visit households and other designated locations to ensure that eligible children receive the required vaccine doses.

The EOC said the campaign is intended to strengthen polio eradication efforts across Balochistan, with particular attention to reaching children who may have missed previous vaccination rounds. The seven-day drive will cover all 31 districts included in the campaign.

Health authorities also reported that no polio case has been recorded in Balochistan since November 2024. The latest vaccination effort is part of Pakistan’s broader campaign to eliminate the disease and protect children from its potentially serious effects.

Officials have urged parents and caregivers to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that their children receive polio drops during the campaign. Their cooperation is considered important to achieving the vaccination target and preventing the virus from spreading.
