BISE Peshawar 2026 results: Islamiat records highest failure rate in Grade 9 and 10 exams

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has announced the results of the 2026 annual examinations for Grades 9 and 10, revealing that Islamiat recorded the highest failure rate among all subjects in both classes.

According to official statistics, 97,950 students appeared in the Grade 9 annual examinations. Of these, 57,847 students successfully passed and were promoted to Grade 10, while the remaining candidates did not meet the required passing criteria.

The examination data highlighted students’ performance across various subjects, with Islamiat emerging as the subject with the highest number of failures in both Grade 9 and Grade 10. The findings have drawn attention from education authorities and experts, who believe the results indicate a need to strengthen teaching methods and student support in the subject.

Education specialists say schools, teachers, and parents should work together to identify the factors contributing to the poor performance.
