At least nine suspects were killed and two police officials were injured in multiple encounters involving the Crime Control Department across various cities of Punjab, according to police reports.
In Lahore, six suspects were killed in three separate operations. Police stated that raids were conducted in different areas, including Sundar, Iqbal Town, and DHA, where armed suspects allegedly opened fire on law enforcement teams. Two constables were injured during one of the operations and shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another incident in Sahiwal, two suspects were killed following a reported exchange of fire near the Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road. Police claimed the suspects had escaped custody earlier and were intercepted after a tip-off. Weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from the scene.
In Faisalabad, a suspected drug dealer was killed during a late-night encounter near Chohala Mor. Authorities said the suspect was involved in multiple criminal activities, including drug trafficking and robbery, and had a history of serious offences.
Meanwhile, in Bahawalpur, police arrested an alleged dacoit in injured condition after an encounter near Ahmedpur East. Three accomplices managed to escape, and search operations are ongoing to apprehend them.
According to officials, these operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and dismantle criminal networks across the province. Investigations into all incidents are currently underway.
