Wildlife officials have arrested five suspects in Jamshoro, Sindh, after recovering the meat of approximately 1,700 birds during an operation targeting the alleged illegal handling and distribution of bird meat. Authorities said the recovered meat was reportedly intended to be supplied to different districts.
According to an official statement, the Wildlife Department conducted a raid in Jamshoro and recovered a large quantity of bird meat. Five suspects were taken into custody, and a formal case was registered against them as part of the investigation into the alleged activity.
Officials said the suspects had allegedly frozen the bird meat to preserve it before transporting and distributing it to different areas. The department stated that the recovery appeared to be linked to a supply process involving the storage and transportation of the meat for distribution across multiple districts.
Following their arrest, the suspects were presented before the court of the District and Sessions Judge in Jamshoro for further legal proceedings. The case will proceed through the relevant legal process as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the recovery.
The incident has raised concerns about the alleged illegal trade and distribution of bird meat in Sindh. Wildlife authorities are expected to investigate where the birds came from, how they were captured and whether other individuals may have been involved in the reported supply network.
Officials have not disclosed the species of birds recovered or the precise location of the operation. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses and authorities determine the nature of the alleged wildlife-related offences and any legal action warranted.
