The University of Karachi has conducted its entry test for the 2027 morning admissions programme, with 6,669 candidates appearing for 1,402 available seats across 20 academic disciplines, including Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D). The examination took place on Sunday, with candidates competing for admission to various undergraduate and professional programmes.
According to the university administration, 7,265 candidates had submitted admission forms for the available seats. Of these, 6,669 appeared in the examination, recording an attendance rate of 96.1 per cent. A total of 270 candidates were absent, while 23 applications were cancelled because the applicants had failed their intermediate examinations or submitted incomplete forms.
KU Director of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhtar said that 303 candidates had applied for both Pharm-D and bachelor’s degree programmes. These applicants received admit cards for the Pharm-D entry test, and their results will also be considered for the bachelor’s programmes they selected, according to the university’s admission arrangements.
The university stated that entry test results will be uploaded to its official website and candidates’ online portals. However, no specific result announcement date was provided in the information released. Applicants are advised to monitor the university’s official channels for updates about results and the next stages of the 2027 admission process.
University officials reported that examination arrangements proceeded smoothly across the designated centres. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Waseem Qazi and Registrar Professor Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui visited several departments to review the arrangements, while faculty deans also inspected examination centres.
To facilitate candidates, the university arranged transport buses at campus entrance gates, security personnel around examination centres, and medical staff and an ambulance for emergencies. The Karachi University Assessment and Testing Service (KUATS) also highlighted its efforts to maintain examination integrity. With the test completed, candidates are now awaiting their results and further admission instructions.
