Pakistan’s armed forces have paid tribute to Nishan-e-Haider recipient Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed on the 61st anniversary of his martyrdom, remembering his exceptional courage and sacrifice during the 1965 war.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir, the chiefs of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy, and the Pakistan Army paid tribute to the decorated officer on his martyrdom anniversary.
Major Raja Aziz Bhatti displayed extraordinary bravery while defending the Burki sector of Lahore against enemy forces during the 1965 war. ISPR said he continued to confront the enemy for five days and five nights despite intense fighting.
The decorated officer remained on the battlefield and led his troops while defending his position. He ultimately embraced martyrdom while carrying out his duty in the defence of the country.
Major Raja Aziz Bhatti’s courage, leadership and determination have continued to hold a prominent place in Pakistan’s military history. His sacrifice is remembered as an example of dedication and service to the nation.
In recognition of his exceptional bravery and ultimate sacrifice during the 1965 war, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honour.
On his 61st martyrdom anniversary, the armed forces once again remembered his service and sacrifice, with ISPR describing his legacy as an inspiration for the nation and future generations.
