Mohsin Naqvi, FBI chief discuss stronger Pakistan-US security cooperation

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met FBI Director Kash Patel at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) headquarters in Washington to discuss strengthening security cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.

The meeting focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in addressing shared security challenges, with particular emphasis on cybercrime investigations and countering emerging digital threats.

Both sides explored ways to improve cooperation in cyber investigations and discussed initiatives aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s capacity to investigate and combat cybercrime through specialised training and technical support.

Officials also reviewed the availability of advanced resources and professional training opportunities for Pakistani investigators, both within the country and abroad, to strengthen law enforcement capabilities.

During the meeting, FBI Director Kash Patel welcomed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and described it as an honour to host Pakistan’s interior minister at the FBI headquarters.

Patel appreciated Pakistan’s cooperation in protecting US interests in the region and stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination between the FBI and Pakistani authorities.

He said the partnership between the FBI and Pakistan remains vital in addressing common security challenges, including cyber threats and transnational crime.

The meeting reflects the continued efforts of both countries to enhance security collaboration, strengthen institutional ties and improve cooperation in tackling evolving regional and global security issues.
