Monsoon rains continue to impact several parts of Pakistan, bringing relief from the intense summer heat while also causing deadly accidents, urban flooding, and damage to infrastructure. At least six people, including children, have lost their lives in rain-related incidents as heavy downpours persist across the country.
In Punjab, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, and Mandi Bahauddin experienced heavy rainfall that lowered temperatures but also submerged roads, flooded low-lying areas, and damaged homes. In Shakargarh, rescue teams safely evacuated 42 farmers stranded by rising water levels in the Ravi River.
Rawalpindi also witnessed flooding after a seasonal stream near Dadocha Dam overflowed into nearby villages, forcing residents to move to safer areas. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, flash floods in Mansehra’s Siran Valley washed away a bridge, cutting off access to 12 villages, while rain continued in Abbottabad, Nowshera, Swabi, Mingora, and Bajaur.
Rainfall also affected Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where rising water levels and a landslide blocked a major highway in the Neelum Valley. Meanwhile, Khuzdar in Balochistan and Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan received rain that brought cooler weather.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain alert, avoid flood-prone areas, and follow official weather advisories as the monsoon spell continues across Pakistan.
