Multan International Airport has achieved a new milestone by recording its highest-ever number of daily flight operations, with 37 flights handled in a single day. The record reflects increased air traffic activity at the airport and growing connectivity for passengers in southern Punjab.
According to the latest flight schedule, 18 flights arrived at Multan airport while 19 flights departed, bringing the total number of operations to 37. The figure marks the highest daily flight activity recorded at the airport so far.
Across Pakistan, 449 flights were operated during the same 24-hour period, while 68 flights were cancelled and 112 experienced delays of up to seven hours. Karachi handled 135 flights, Islamabad 118 and Lahore 105, while Peshawar, Sialkot and Faisalabad recorded 17, 15 and 12 flights respectively.
Multan also experienced some delays, with eight flights reportedly delayed. Three flights were cancelled at the airport during the period.
The latest figures highlight the growing importance of Multan International Airport as an aviation hub for southern Punjab. Increased flight operations can improve travel options for residents, businesses and overseas Pakistanis using the airport.
However, flight delays and cancellations continued to affect passengers at several airports across the country. Lahore recorded 21 cancellations, Karachi 20 and Islamabad 12, while Quetta reported six cancellations.
The new daily record at Multan International Airport indicates rising flight activity and stronger passenger connectivity, while future schedules will determine whether the airport can sustain and further increase its record-breaking operations.
