ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has marked Türkiye’s 104th Victory Day with a special musical tribute celebrating the longstanding friendship and shared cultural ties between the two brotherly nations.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released the special song “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” (Two Hearts, One Soul) to commemorate the occasion. The song combines Urdu and Turkish lyrics and brings together musical elements from both cultures to highlight the close bond between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Performed entirely by Pakistani artists, the song celebrates the historical relationship, mutual affection and shared values that have connected the people of the two countries for decades.
The musical composition was prepared by Ali Mustafa, while the arrangement and composition were developed by Kamranullah Khan and Samia Gohar. Vocal performances were provided by Usman Rais and Dr Mubashira Hafeez.
Urdu-Turkish musical fusion
One of the key features of “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” is its combination of Urdu and Turkish languages with traditional instruments from both countries.
The musical arrangement incorporates the rubab, a traditional Pakistani string instrument, alongside Türkiye’s bağlama and darbuka. The combination creates a distinctive cross-cultural sound while reinforcing the song’s central message of friendship and brotherhood.
The bilingual lyrics are intended to resonate with audiences in both Pakistan and Türkiye, highlighting themes of love, solidarity, cultural similarities and mutual respect.
Pakistan and Türkiye have maintained close diplomatic and people-to-people relations for decades and frequently describe their relationship as that between two brotherly nations. Cultural exchanges, official visits and cooperation in different sectors have further strengthened ties between the two countries.
Türkiye Victory Day 2026
Türkiye’s Victory Day is observed on August 30 to commemorate the decisive victory in the Turkish War of Independence in 1922. The 2026 celebrations mark the 104th anniversary of the historic victory.
Against this backdrop, the release of “Do Dil, Ek Jaan” adds a cultural dimension to Pakistan’s celebrations, using music to showcase the emotional connection between the two nations.
