Punjab IG Orders Zero-Tolerance Against Crimes Targeting Women And Children

Abdul Kareem has directed police officers across Punjab to strictly enforce a zero-tolerance policy against crimes involving women and children, emphasizing stronger accountability and improved policing measures throughout the province.

The directive was issued during a general meeting held at Police Lines in Faisalabad, where the Punjab IG highlighted the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to transform Punjab into a safer and crime-free province.

Addressing senior police officers and officials, Abdul Kareem stated that practical measures are being implemented to improve crime prevention, strengthen traffic management and ensure timely delivery of justice to citizens.

The meeting was attended by several senior police officials, including Faisalabad Regional Police Officer Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain, district police officers from nearby regions and Counter Terrorism Department officials.

The Punjab IG stressed that crimes involving violence, abuse and exploitation of women and children would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed all officers to ensure strict implementation of laws and immediate action against offenders.

During the visit, Abdul Kareem also reviewed the performance of the Safe City Faisalabad project and praised its contribution toward reducing heinous crimes in the region.

According to the IG, the operationalization of Safe City Faisalabad has significantly improved surveillance, strengthened law enforcement response systems and increased public confidence in police performance.

He instructed officers to fully utilize modern surveillance technology, CCTV monitoring systems and command-and-control facilities to improve security and maintain law and order across the region.

The Punjab IG later visited the Safe City Headquarters in Faisalabad, where officials briefed him on integrated monitoring systems, response mechanisms and advanced camera surveillance operations.

He said the Safe City Project is playing an important role in protecting citizens’ lives and property while supporting police operations against criminal activities.

Abdul Kareem also appreciated coordinated efforts between the police and local communities in controlling narcotics and maintaining public safety in the Faisalabad region.

During the ceremony, commendation certificates and cash rewards were distributed among police officers and personnel who demonstrated outstanding performance in crime prevention and law enforcement duties.

The Punjab government has continued to emphasize police reforms, technological upgrades and welfare initiatives for police personnel to improve operational efficiency and strengthen public trust in law enforcement institutions.
