ISLAMABAD: Punjab has the largest reported sugar stock among the three provinces for which figures were presented to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), with more than 1.58 million metric tonnes available as of Friday, September 4.
According to figures presented to FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial, Punjab had 1,588,542 metric tonnes of sugar in stock at the close of the week.
Sindh had 756,966 metric tonnes of sugar in stock, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had 198,832 metric tonnes, according to the reported data.
The figures show that Punjab accounted for the largest share of the reported sugar stocks, followed by Sindh and KP. Combined, the three provinces had approximately 2.54 million metric tonnes of sugar in stock.
Punjab’s stock was more than twice the quantity reported by Sindh and substantially higher than the stock available in KP.
The stock position was presented to the FBR chairman on Friday, September 4. The data provides an overview of sugar availability in the three provinces and may assist authorities in monitoring domestic supplies and assessing the overall availability of the commodity.
Sugar stocks and market availability remain an important issue for authorities, particularly in ensuring adequate supplies and monitoring the domestic market.
The figures presented to the FBR covered Punjab, Sindh and KP. No sugar stock figure for Balochistan was mentioned in the information presented to the FBR chairman.
