Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the reported Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expressing condolences to the families of those killed and wishing the injured a speedy and complete recovery. His statement highlighted Pakistan’s concern over attacks targeting civilian facilities amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
The prime minister said attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure were unacceptable and posed a serious threat to regional peace, stability and security. He called for an immediate end to such violence and stressed the importance of protecting civilian lives and preventing further escalation.
Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, its leadership and its people. He reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to the kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The statement highlighted the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which is based on diplomatic cooperation, mutual trust and shared interests. Pakistan has repeatedly expressed support for Saudi Arabia’s security as regional tensions and the Yemen conflict continue to raise concerns.
