SHO, Elite Constable Martyred in Terrorist Attack on Police Patrol in Mohmand

Two police personnel, including Station House Officer (SHO) Zaitullah and Elite Force constable Noor Zeb, were martyred after terrorists attacked a police patrol vehicle in Mohmand district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a late-night assault, according to police officials.

Authorities said the attackers targeted the police patrol while officers were performing routine security duties. Despite the sudden attack, both officers fought bravely before embracing martyrdom in the line of duty. Police described the assault as another act of terrorism targeting law enforcement personnel in the province.

Following the incident, funeral prayers for the martyred officers were held at the Police Lines in Ghalanai with full state honours. The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, civil administration representatives, elected leaders, and security personnel who paid tribute to the sacrifices of the fallen officers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a rise in militant attacks in recent months, particularly in districts bordering Afghanistan. Security forces and police continue to conduct operations aimed at maintaining law and order while preventing terrorist activities in the region.

The attack highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies as they continue operations against militant groups. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing those responsible and strengthening security measures across vulnerable districts.

Police officials praised the courage and dedication of SHO Zaitullah and constable Noor Zeb, stating that their sacrifice reflects the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s police force to protecting citizens and preserving peace despite increasing security threats.
