Militants Attack Border Military Police Station in Dera Ghazi Khan

A militant attack on the Border Military Police (BMP) station in Chitarwata, located in the tribal region of Koh-i-Sulaiman tehsil in Dera Ghazi Khan, has raised fresh security concerns in Punjab. According to official sources, armed militants targeted the police station, causing structural damage to the building while security personnel remained safe during the incident.

Officials confirmed that law enforcement agencies responded quickly after the attack and secured the area soon afterward. BMP Commandant and Koh-i-Sulaiman Political Assistant Ameer Taimoor stated that all personnel stationed at the police facility remained unharmed despite the damage caused to the building.

Following the incident, authorities strengthened security arrangements across the surrounding region. Increased surveillance measures have been introduced on both internal and external routes to prevent any further threats and ensure public safety in the tribal belt of Dera Ghazi Khan.

The attack has once again highlighted security challenges in sensitive areas bordering Punjab’s tribal regions. Officials urged residents to avoid spreading rumours or relying on unverified information circulating on social media. Citizens were also requested to immediately report any suspicious activity to relevant authorities.

According to the administration, all necessary measures are being taken to maintain peace and stability in the area while protecting the lives and property of local residents. Authorities described the attackers as Khawarij elements and said security agencies remain fully alert following the assault.

The incident comes amid ongoing security concerns in different parts of Pakistan, where law enforcement agencies continue operations against militant activities. The damaged BMP station in Chitarwata has since been secured, and monitoring efforts in the region have been intensified to avoid any future incidents.
