Goods Transport Fares Reduced by 5% Following Petrol and Diesel Price Cuts

The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 5 per cent reduction in goods transportation fares following the government’s decision to lower petrol and diesel prices. The alliance said the move was made in response to the recent decline in petroleum costs.

In a statement, All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan confirmed that transportation charges had been reduced after fuel prices dropped over the past four to five days. He welcomed the government’s decision to cut petroleum prices and said the alliance had adjusted its fares accordingly.

Awan also thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal petroleum minister for providing relief through lower fuel prices. However, he urged the government to announce further reductions in petrol and diesel rates to offer additional support to the transport sector.

The government has reduced the petrol price by Rs9.41 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs352.59 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs5.56 per litre, taking it to Rs382.25 per litre.

The reduction in goods transportation fares is expected to provide some relief to businesses that depend on road transport to move products and supplies. Lower transportation charges may help reduce some of the costs associated with the movement of goods.

The announcement links the transport alliance’s fare adjustment to the recent decline in fuel prices, while its president has called for further reductions to support transport operators and businesses.
