A major terrorist attack targeting the Sindh Rangers Headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area was successfully foiled after security forces responded swiftly, eliminating all three attackers during a fierce gun battle. The attempted assault resulted in the martyrdom of three Rangers personnel, while one security official sustained injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
According to initial reports, the terrorists attempted to breach the Rangers headquarters by crashing their vehicle into the main entrance before opening fire. Rangers personnel immediately retaliated, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire. Security agencies, including Rangers, Karachi Police, the Special Security Unit (SSU), and anti-terrorism teams, quickly surrounded the area and launched a comprehensive clearance operation.
Authorities confirmed that all three terrorists involved in the attack were killed during the operation. Following the successful clearance, law enforcement agencies secured the surrounding streets and initiated a detailed investigation to determine the identity of the attackers and the group responsible for the assault.
Emergency rescue teams reached the scene immediately after reports of heavy firing and an explosion near Mosamiyat in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The injured security official was shifted to the hospital, while bomb disposal units searched the area to ensure no additional explosives or attackers remained.
Senior Sindh government officials, including the Chief Minister and Home Minister, sought detailed reports from law enforcement agencies and directed authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident. Security across Karachi has also been heightened following the attack.
The incident comes amid growing concerns over increased militant activities across Pakistan.
