ISPR Confirms Pakistan Military Successfully Intercepted Taliban Drones

Pakistan’s security forces successfully intercepted several rudimentary drones launched by the Afghan Taliban on March 13, preventing them from reaching their intended targets, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing confirmed that the drones were neutralized using advanced electronic countermeasures and defensive actions by Pakistan’s armed forces.

Officials stated that the timely interception prevented major damage to military installations or critical infrastructure.

However, debris from the downed drones reportedly caused minor injuries to civilians. Two children were injured in Quetta, while one civilian each sustained injuries in Kohat and Rawalpindi.

Authorities confirmed that the injured individuals received medical treatment and that no major casualties were reported.

In its statement, the ISPR described the drone launches as an attempt to spread fear among civilians and destabilize the region.

The military also accused the Afghan Taliban of using proxy groups and drone attacks while portraying themselves as victims on international platforms.

Pakistan’s armed forces reiterated their commitment to protecting the country and its citizens against any form of cross-border terrorism.

The statement emphasized that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq will continue until Pakistan’s core security concerns related to cross-border terrorism are fully addressed.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information also condemned statements from Afghan Taliban officials regarding the incident, stating that their claims lack verifiable evidence.

Officials pointed out that similar propaganda efforts have occurred in the past, including false claims about shooting down Pakistani aircraft and capturing pilots, which were later removed from official channels.

Security analysts believe the latest incident highlights the evolving nature of security threats in the region, where drones and other technologies are increasingly being used by militant groups.

Pakistan’s military has vowed to remain vigilant and continue defensive operations to ensure national security and protect civilians from such threats.
