Govt Seeks Plan to Boost Crop Yields, Improve Commodity Supply

The Government of Pakistan has directed key ministries to develop comprehensive strategies aimed at improving agricultural productivity, commodity supply, and logistics management across the country. The Ministry of National Food Security and Research has been tasked with coordinating with provincial governments to prepare and submit a detailed plan within one month to boost crop yields.

Authorities emphasized the importance of increasing agricultural output to ensure food security and economic stability. The plan is expected to address key challenges faced by farmers, including productivity gaps, resource management, and modern farming techniques.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce Pakistan has been instructed to provide updated data on the import and export of essential commodities, along with identifying obstacles affecting trade flows.

The Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination has also been asked to present a report on the availability and import status of medicines to ensure uninterrupted healthcare supply.

In addition, the Ministry of Railways Pakistan, in collaboration with the National Logistics Cell, will submit a briefing on logistics and transportation systems for commodities, highlighting operational challenges and solutions.

These directives are part of a broader government effort to improve coordination among departments, streamline supply chains, and ensure the timely availability of essential goods across Pakistan.
