LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed a one-month ban on eight female stage artists over allegations of vulgar, obscene and indecent performances during stage dramas in different theatres across the province.
According to an official notification issued by the Information & Culture Department on August 24, 2026, the action was taken following a monitoring report submitted by PUCAR under the relevant standard operating procedures.
The artists have been prohibited from participating in dramatic and theatrical activities throughout Punjab with immediate effect for a period of one month.

The notification names the following eight female stage artists:
- Maahi Rajpoot
- Hina Sheikh
- Malaika Shahzadi
- Madiha Khan
- Mehak Noor
- Mano Multani
- Raima Mehar
- Husna Jutt
According to the department, the action was taken over alleged vulgar, obscene and indecent dance performances and inappropriate gestures displayed during stage dramas at different theatres in Punjab.
The Information & Culture Department has directed all concerned authorities to ensure strict implementation of the ban.
The notification further states that any violation of the order will be dealt with under the relevant laws and rules.
The provincial department said that stage dramas and theatrical performances across Punjab are being regularly monitored to prevent objectionable content and ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
The latest action is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to regulate stage performances and maintain standards of decency in public entertainment.
The ban will remain effective for one month, during which the eight artists will not be permitted to participate in theatrical activities anywhere in Punjab.
The notification was signed by the Secretary of the Information & Culture Department, directing relevant authorities to implement the decision.
