Ziaullah Langove Sworn In as Balochistan Home Minister

Mir Ziaullah Langove of the Balochistan Awami Party has been sworn in as the new Home Minister of Balochistan, filling a key position that had remained vacant since August 2024.

Oath-Taking Ceremony in Quetta

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Governor House, where Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail administered the oath.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Sarfraz Bugti, along with provincial ministers and high-ranking government representatives.

Key Portfolio Assigned

Following the oath, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti assigned Langove the home and tribal affairs department, one of the most critical portfolios in the province.

An official notification confirming the assignment was also issued.

Background of Appointment

Mir Ziaullah Langove was elected from the PB-36 Kalat constituency and had previously been de-notified on August 21, 2024.

Since then, the home ministry had been under the direct control of the chief minister.

Importance of the Role

The home department plays a vital role in managing:

  • Internal security

  • Law and order

  • Tribal affairs

Given the security challenges in Balochistan, the appointment of a dedicated home minister is seen as a significant step toward strengthening governance.

Moving Forward

With Langove now officially in charge, the provincial government aims to improve coordination and address key security and administrative issues more effectively.
