LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy, praising their professionalism, courage and dedication to safeguarding the country’s maritime interests.
In her message on the occasion of Naval Day, Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Navy has consistently demonstrated exceptional professional capabilities and shown its strength whenever the country has faced a challenge.
She expressed appreciation for naval officers and personnel who continue to perform their duties in difficult maritime conditions, saying the nation remains proud of their commitment, vigilance and sacrifices.
The chief minister also highlighted the significance of September 8 in Pakistan’s naval history and recalled the Pakistan Navy’s historic achievements against the enemy. She particularly referred to the role of submarine PNS Ghazi, which holds a prominent place in Pakistan’s naval history for its operations in the Indian Ocean.
Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Navy’s responsibilities extend beyond national defence, noting its important role in protecting the country’s maritime routes and supporting sea-based trade and economic activity.
She stressed that the security of maritime routes is vital to Pakistan’s economy, as the safe movement of commercial vessels is essential for maintaining trade and protecting the country’s maritime interests.
The Punjab chief minister also acknowledged the sacrifices and commitment of naval personnel, saying their professionalism and continuous vigilance strengthen Pakistan’s defence and contribute to national security.
Maryam Nawaz paid rich tribute to the officers and sailors of the Pakistan Navy and expressed confidence that the force would continue to protect Pakistan’s maritime security and national interests with courage, professionalism and dedication.
