Pakistan Armed Forces Pay Tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan on 27th Martyrdom Anniversary

The Pakistan Armed Forces paid heartfelt tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) on the 27th anniversary of his martyrdom, honouring his exceptional courage, fearless leadership, and ultimate sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil conflict.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the tribute was led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and all branches of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The military leadership remembered Captain Karnal Sher Khan as a symbol of patriotism, bravery, and unwavering commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Captain Karnal Sher Khan displayed extraordinary gallantry while leading his troops from the front under extremely challenging conditions during the Kargil conflict. His courageous actions earned him Pakistan’s highest military honour, the Nishan-e-Haider, making him one of the country’s most respected war heroes.

The ISPR stated that his sacrifice continues to inspire future generations of Pakistanis and serves as a timeless example of honour, duty, and selfless service to the nation. The military reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the values for which Captain Karnal Sher Khan laid down his life.

The 27th martyrdom anniversary highlights Pakistan’s continued recognition of the sacrifices made by its armed forces in protecting the country’s territorial integrity.
