Police in Lakki Marwat have launched an investigation after the bodies of three men, all bearing bullet wounds, were discovered at two separate locations on Saturday. Authorities believe the victims were shot by unidentified attackers before their bodies were abandoned in fields.
According to police officials, two bodies were first found by local residents in the Asmatabad area. After receiving information from eyewitnesses, a police team from the Ghaznikhel Police Station reached the scene, collected evidence, and shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital for legal formalities and identification.
In a separate incident, a third body was recovered from the Khaisorewala area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak Police Station in Serai Naurang. The deceased was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where a postmortem examination was conducted as part of the investigation.
Police confirmed that all three victims had sustained gunshot wounds. Investigators are currently working to establish the identities of the deceased, determine the motive behind the killings, and identify those responsible for the crime. No arrests have been announced so far.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated separate investigations into both incidents and are collecting forensic evidence, witness statements, and other relevant information to trace the attackers. Officials stated that all aspects of the case are being examined and that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
The discovery of the bodies has raised concerns among local residents regarding law and order in the area. Authorities have assured the public that every effort is being made to solve the case and bring those responsible to justice.
In a separate development on the same day, the Wildlife Department distributed research grant cheques to 14 students and researchers from public-sector universities under the Special Game Reserve Project. The grants will support research on wildlife conservation, biodiversity, habitat protection, and scientific wildlife management across the province.
