Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Quetta for a one-day official trip to chair a high-level meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) Apex Committee, where Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership will review the prevailing law and order situation in Balochistan.
According to official sources, the meeting will be held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and attended by senior federal ministers, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and senior representatives from key security and law enforcement institutions.
The primary focus of the meeting will be to assess the current security environment in Balochistan, review ongoing counterterrorism efforts, and evaluate measures being implemented to strengthen peace, stability, and public safety across the province.
Participants are expected to discuss recent security developments, examine existing strategies, and explore additional steps to improve coordination among federal and provincial institutions responsible for maintaining law and order.
The National Action Plan Apex Committee serves as Pakistan’s principal forum for coordinating internal security policies. It regularly brings together political and military leadership to review counterterrorism operations, intelligence coordination, and broader national security challenges.
Officials are also expected to consider proposals aimed at enhancing inter-agency cooperation, improving the implementation of security policies, and addressing emerging threats affecting the province.
The prime minister’s visit underscores the federal government’s continued commitment to working closely with provincial authorities to strengthen security and ensure lasting peace in Balochistan. Any major decisions, recommendations, or policy announcements arising from the meeting are expected to be shared after the session concludes.
