KARACHI: A vibrant celebration of art and culture unfolded at the World Culture Festival, organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan on Thursday evening.
The festival started with local musicians Ustad Sabzal on banjo and Farhan Raees Khan on sitar, whose spirited folk performances set an electrifying tone. Azerbaijani artists Sahib Pashazade and Kamran Kerimov followed, captivating the audience with a passionate lute and drum act.
South Africa’s Jazzart Dance Theatre presented a compelling dance that explored complex emotions, showcasing the universal language of art. As chief guest, Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori inaugurated the festival, emphasizing the significance of culture as a national identity and welcoming artists from 40 countries.
Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, thanked foreign dignitaries and highlighted the collective effort behind the festival, stating, “Culture, art, and music are our most powerful tools against extremism.”

The festival, which runs until October 30, is poised to showcase global artistic expression, celebrating diversity and cultural heritage.
