Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a significant rally in the Sangjani area of Islamabad, overcoming extensive government-imposed blockades. The authorities deployed containers throughout the twin cities and blocked streets in Iqbal Town and Dhoke Kala Khan to impede the event. Despite these challenges, MNA Shafqat Abbas Awan from Sargodha and thousands of his supporters managed to navigate these obstacles and reach the rally site.

Participants from the Soon Valley were detained at the Lilla Interchange but were subsequently released, while Hasan Aslam successfully evaded capture with his companions. Convoys from various regions across the country joined the Islamabad rally.

As the event extended beyond its scheduled time, the Islamabad administration directed the police to clear the venue. Traffic signals in surrounding areas were deactivated. The police reported that rally participants were involved in stone-throwing, while participants alleged that they were subjected to shelling. The Frontier Corps (FC) was deployed to manage the escalating situation. According to the latest reports, despite significant hurdles, a convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had arrived at the venue.

Public sentiment suggests that PTI has met its objectives, effectively rallying its supporters and enhancing their morale. In a strong statement, leaders at the rally demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan and announced plans to march on Adiala Jail on October 1st if their demands were not met.
