Agricultural areas of Sargodha

Sargodha (Soon Times Survey Report / Qasim Shahzad and Ehtesham Asim), the fertile lands of Sargodha District, especially Sargodha Tehsil are rapidly becoming barren lands. A survey was conducted in this regard by correspondents of Soon Times. During the survey various farmers were interviewed regarding their problems. Khan Iqbal Khan Baloch while talking about the problems faced by small farmers said, the lands have been weakened by sowing and harvesting crops continuously for the last hundred years. While due to the carelessness of the drainage department, the problem of Sam and Thor is increasing. Lands of many villages, including the lands of 29 North, are completely destroyed. A Sam Nala (sewer) passes through here, but it is not cleaned, and funds are embezzled away. DAP fertilizer is still out of reach of the small farmers. Khaliq Dad Awan said, small farmers have to get out of traditional farming and modern farming requires more investment. Gypsum is currently being used in this area. Guar and nitro fertilizers are also expensive. There is also water shortage. Mian Muhammad Awan said, large scale labor is required on the lands. Similarly, Bilal Sabhralia also complained about the lack of water and the lack of attention of the agriculture department. All these factors together are damaging the productive lands.
