Educational institutions across Punjab have officially reopened following the end of scheduled holidays, marking a return to regular academic activities throughout the province.
According to government directives, schools, colleges, and universities resumed operations after remaining closed from March 10 to March 31 as part of austerity and fuel-saving measures. The reopening aims to restore normal academic routines while ensuring efficient use of resources.
Authorities have confirmed that all institutions will now follow a five-day week with fully physical classes. This decision ends the previously implemented hybrid learning system, as officials believe in-person education is essential for maintaining academic quality and improving student engagement.
New school timings have also been introduced. Educational institutions will open at 8:45 a.m. and close at 1:30 p.m., providing a structured schedule for both students and staff.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat earlier announced the reopening and emphasized the importance of regular classroom learning. The move has been welcomed by parents and educators, who believe that consistent in-person education will help students recover from academic disruptions.
Schools have also been advised to ensure proper management and follow official guidelines as students return to campuses across Punjab.
