With the arrival of the holy month of Ramazan, a welfare campaign titled “Khidmat ka Ramadan” has been launched in Lahore under the supervision of Markazi Muslim League, aimed at providing free Sehri meals to thousands of deserving people across the city.
According to party representatives, Sehri kitchens are currently operational in 274 union councils, while over 1,000 food distribution points have been established to ensure maximum outreach. The initiative seeks to ease the burden on families facing financial hardship during Ramazan.
As part of the campaign, a large central Sehri table was arranged in Model Town, where citizens were served a variety of dishes including beef qorma, parathas, halwa puri, yogurt, and tea. Party leaders also visited the site and shared the Sehri meal with attendees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muzammil Hashmi stated that welfare activities have been launched across the city and will continue throughout Ramazan. He added that efforts are underway to deliver meals directly to the homes of deserving individuals so that more people can benefit from the initiative.
Residents appreciated the campaign and expressed hope that such welfare efforts would continue beyond Ramazan to support those in need throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Ramazan has officially begun across Pakistan, creating a spiritual atmosphere nationwide as families prepare for fasting, Taraweeh prayers, and acts of charity.
