Maryam Nawaz Praises Army’s Swift Response to Border Attack

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for what she described as a strong and immediate response to the recent attack along the Pak-Afghan border.

In a statement issued on Friday, the chief minister strongly condemned the assault, calling it a cowardly act. She saluted the armed forces for responding decisively and said the enemy was answered “within the blink of an eye.”

Maryam Nawaz stated that those involved in attacks against Pakistan, along with their supporters and handlers, have faced humiliation in the past and will continue to do so. She emphasized that every act of aggression would be met with full force.

The chief minister declared that Pakistan’s geographical boundaries are a “red line” and warned that anyone attempting to violate them would face disgrace and defeat. She added that the entire nation stands united with its armed forces in defending the country’s sovereignty.

She further said that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness. According to her, the country and its people remain committed to protecting the dignity and honor of their homeland at all costs.

Meanwhile, tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border escalated sharply as the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, security sources said. The strikes reportedly destroyed a major ammunition depot and several military positions following what Pakistan described as unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces.

Security officials stated that multiple Afghan border posts were destroyed, while several others were taken over by Pakistani forces during the operation.
