Mike Hesson Opens Up About Coaching Pakistan Against New Zealand

Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson has shared his thoughts on what he described as a “new and unexpected experience” as he prepares to coach Pakistan against New Zealand in the Super 8 round of the T20 World Cup. Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Hesson admitted that facing his former team has brought mixed emotions.

“I never thought I would be plotting against New Zealand while representing Pakistan,” Hesson said. “Being loyal to another country against my own will be a new experience.” Having spent seven years coaching the New Zealand national team, Hesson acknowledged that his connection with the Kiwi side remains strong, even as he fully commits to his role with Pakistan.
