No Loadshedding During Sehr and Iftar: Govt Assures Uninterrupted Electricity and Gas in Ramazan

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced that there will be no electricity or gas loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar timings throughout the holy month of Ramazan, ensuring uninterrupted utility services for fasting citizens across Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Power Minister Awais Leghari made the announcement during a joint press conference, stating that special arrangements have been made to avoid any disruption during key fasting hours.

According to the ministers, electricity supply will remain uninterrupted during Sehr and Iftar, except in cases of unforeseen technical faults. Economic loadshedding in high-loss areas will also be restricted during these critical hours.

The government has established a central control room at PIDC to monitor electricity feeders nationwide. Consumers facing issues can register complaints on the electricity helpline 118, which will ensure immediate response.

For gas supply, authorities have arranged maximum pressure from 3am to 10:30pm, particularly in Punjab under SNGPL’s network. In Karachi and nearby areas, SSGC has issued a schedule ensuring supply during Sehr and Iftar timings.

Gas-related complaints can be registered on helpline 119, while situation rooms at SNGPL and SSGC headquarters will monitor supply, especially at tail-end areas.

Officials stated that these measures aim to provide relief and convenience to citizens during the holy month, ensuring smooth observance of fasting across the country.
