Pakistan Offers Workforce to Europe as Legal Job Opportunities Expand
Rome: Pakistan has expressed its readiness to provide both skilled and unskilled workforce to European countries through legal migration channels, aiming to strengthen international labor cooperation and reduce illegal migration.
Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement while leading a Pakistani delegation at a high-level migration dialogue held in Rome. Representatives from Italy, Spain, and Greece participated in the discussions focused on expanding legal employment pathways.
During the meeting, the minister appreciated Italy for allocating 10,500 job opportunities for Pakistani workers, describing it as a significant step toward enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In separate talks with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in internal security, migration management, and law enforcement coordination.
The minister emphasized that promoting safe and legal migration routes is essential to discourage dangerous and illegal travel attempts. He noted that expanding regular employment programs would help reduce human smuggling and protect individuals from exploitation.
Officials from Greece and Spain also indicated their willingness to increase employment opportunities for Pakistani citizens in the future.
Participants at the dialogue acknowledged the recent decline in illegal sea crossings by Pakistani nationals, terming it a positive development resulting from improved migration management efforts.
Pakistan aims to build stronger partnerships with European nations to ensure lawful migration, workforce development, and enhanced international cooperation.
