Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Agree to Strengthen Cooperation for Regional Peace and Stability

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation for regional peace and stability following a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

During the brief official visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the Saudi leadership that Pakistan would always stand firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support efforts aimed at maintaining peace in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting took place in Jeddah where both leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional security developments, and ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s longstanding support for Pakistan and highlighted the importance of the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

The premier also conveyed his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining close diplomatic and economic ties with the Kingdom.

Senior Pakistani officials including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir were also present during the meeting.

Both leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Middle East and agreed on the need for cooperation to ensure stability, peace, and security in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan would continue playing a constructive diplomatic role and support peaceful dialogue to resolve ongoing conflicts.

Earlier, the prime minister arrived in Jeddah at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and was received at the Royal Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport by senior Saudi officials and Pakistani diplomatic staff.

The visit comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high due to ongoing conflicts and security challenges in the region.

Officials stated that the discussions between the leaders are part of broader diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue, reduce hostilities, and strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to working together for long-term peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
