Pakistani National Killed in Iranian Missile Attack on UAE

A Pakistani national was killed in Abu Dhabi after being struck by missile fragments during Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates, diplomatic officials confirmed on Saturday.

Authorities said they are in contact with UAE officials regarding the incident, though the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed.

The development comes amid escalating hostilities in the Middle East after Israel and the United States carried out strikes on Iran earlier in the day. Tehran responded with missile attacks targeting Gulf states and Israeli-linked sites across the region.

State media in the UAE confirmed that one person had been killed in Abu Dhabi but did not release further details. Meanwhile, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan reported intercepting Iranian missiles within their airspace.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards stated that the missile strikes targeted US bases and Israeli-linked facilities in the region and indicated that operations would continue.

In Bahrain, authorities confirmed an attack within its territory, stating that a service centre of the US Fifth Fleet had been struck. Videos circulating online showed smoke rising near the coast while warning sirens echoed across parts of the country.

Residents in Abu Dhabi reported loud explosions across areas including Corniche, Al Dhafra and Bateen. Emergency alerts were issued advising people to seek shelter indoors and avoid windows due to missile threats. Fighter jets were reportedly seen over Yas Island.

In Qatar, military officials confirmed that incoming missiles were intercepted before reaching Qatari territory. Explosions were heard in Doha, prompting shelter-in-place advisories for residents.

The Kuwaiti army stated it engaged missiles within Kuwaiti airspace, while Jordan confirmed shooting down two Iranian ballistic missiles.

The Pakistani embassy in the UAE urged nationals to remain calm and rely only on official information sources. Citizens were advised to minimise non-essential travel, check flight schedules with airlines, and remain in contact with Pakistani missions.

Several international airlines suspended flights across parts of the Middle East, while flight tracking data showed Iranian airspace largely empty following the escalation.
