The Pakistan Navy has strengthened its fleet with the induction of PNS Khaibar Corvette, marking a significant step toward naval modernization and enhanced maritime security.
The induction ceremony was attended by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, who highlighted the importance of a technologically advanced naval force in safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests.
Speaking at the event, Admiral Ashraf emphasized Pakistan’s strategic position along key global trade and energy routes. He noted that a strong navy is essential to protect sea lines of communication and ensure the security of national interests.
The newly inducted PNS Khaibar is part of the MILGEM class corvettes, equipped with modern combat systems and advanced technology designed to enhance operational capabilities. The addition of this vessel will improve the Navy’s ability to respond to emerging maritime challenges and maintain regional stability.
Recalling past operations such as Marka-e-Haq, the Naval Chief stated that the Pakistan Navy has consistently demonstrated operational readiness and the ability to deter threats effectively.
He further added that ongoing efforts to modernize the fleet, including the induction of advanced ships and upcoming Hangor class submarines, will significantly boost combat strength, operational flexibility, and strategic reach.
The induction of PNS Khaibar underscores Pakistan Navy’s commitment to defending the country’s maritime frontiers and ensuring the safety of vital trade routes in an increasingly complex security environment.
