Khawaja Asif Calls Attacks on Iran ‘Regrettable’, Urges Calm and Peace

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has termed the recent attacks on Iran as “extremely regrettable,” stating that the developments have deeply saddened the people of Pakistan.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the defence minister said Pakistan has stood by Iran through all possible diplomatic and moral support. He added that Islamabad also condemned the attacks at the United Nations, reaffirming its clear stance against aggression.

Khawaja Asif appealed to religious parties and the general public to remain calm during this sensitive period. He stressed that while emotions are understandable, it is crucial to respond with patience and responsibility.

He warned that if protests turn violent or individuals take the law into their own hands, it would only benefit those seeking to destabilise Pakistan. Maintaining peace and national unity, he said, is a collective responsibility.

The defence minister further emphasised that any demonstrations should remain peaceful and that all forms of unrest must be avoided to ensure stability across the country.
