Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern after three Pakistani nationals were injured in an incident at Khor Fakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates.
According to official reports, the injuries occurred when debris from a missile interception fell near the port area, triggering a fire and causing panic among civilians. Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene and managed to control the situation.
In a public statement, the prime minister extended his prayers for the swift recovery of those injured and assured that Pakistan is in close contact with UAE authorities to provide all necessary assistance to affected citizens.
The incident comes amid rising regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and its retaliatory actions. Gulf countries, including the UAE, have been impacted by falling debris from missile interceptions, raising serious safety concerns.
Reports indicate that three Pakistani nationals sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate, while one Nepalese national suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
This is not the first such incident, as earlier reports confirmed casualties among Pakistani nationals in the UAE due to similar circumstances. The situation highlights the growing risks faced by expatriates in conflict-affected regions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for restraint and de-escalation, reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of the UAE during this challenging time.
