Skardu Schools Closed for Two More Days as Authorities Review Security Situation

Educational institutions across Skardu will remain closed for an additional two days as authorities continue to review the evolving security situation in the district. The decision was announced after a detailed assessment of public safety concerns.

Local officials stated that the temporary closure is a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding students, teachers, and school staff. Authorities emphasized that preventing any untoward incidents remains the top priority while the situation is closely monitored.

A high-level meeting of the Special Apex Committee was held under the chairmanship of the caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan to evaluate the overall security environment. Senior civil and security officials attended the meeting to review developments and discuss administrative measures.

During the session, participants deliberated on maintaining stability and explored the possibility of forming a judicial commission to investigate recent incidents. The committee made it clear that strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in damaging public property or disrupting peace.
