Sargodha: The nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s leader and former president District Bar Association Sargodha Malik Shafqat Abbas Awan, Advocate, have been accepted from all constituencies. Like the rest of the country, the returning officers of Sargodha had rejected the nomination papers of senior PTI leaders with ridiculous objections. Against which Shafqat Abbas Awan filed an appeal in the Election Tribunal of Lahore High Court through his lawyers Malik Saleem Iqbal Awan and Maqsood Butter. The Election Tribunal annulled the decision of the Returning Officer and allowed him to contest the election from NA-84, PP-75 and PP-76. Shafqat Abbas Awan is the strongest candidate for PTI ticket from NA-84 Sargodha who faced difficulties while taking legal route. He had to bear the hardships of imprisonment under three MPOs but remained with the party. A few PTI members are definitely aspiring for tickets from this constituency, but as soon as hard times hit the party, they went into hiding leaving the workers alone. While Shafqat Abbas Awan Advocate not only himself but hundreds of his fellow lawyers stood by PTI workers’ cases without any compensation and played their role in getting them bail. It is hoped that the party leadership will field a fearless leader like Shafqat Abbas Awan on this important seat. The people of Sargodha need an honest leader like Shafqat Abbas Awan at this time.
